About Nordea

Nordea in Estonia

Nordea Bank Estonia is a branch of Nordea Bank Finland, and is part of Nordea Bank AB (publ), the biggest financial group in the Nordic countries.

The first office of Nordea Bank (formerly known as Merita Bank) was opened at Harju 6 in Tallinn on 27 February 1995, and was the first foreign bank office in Estonia. Nordea Estonia currently employs 512 people and has over 100 000 customers and over 20 branch offices and service centres in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Viljandi, Jõhvi and Rakvere.

If we add the ever-expanding ATM network to the mix, it can be said that Nordea’s services are always convenient and available to everyone.

As a universal bank, we offer banking products and services required for everyday settlements. We also provide exciting investment options in funds, loans, leasing, guarantees and documentary payments. Our debit and credit cards may be used for payment or ATM cash withdrawal in both Estonia and abroad.

Nordea around the world – the biggest bank in the Nordic countries

The Nordea Bank AB financial group incorporates Nordea Bank Finland, Nordea Bank Norge, Nordea Bank Sweden and Nordea Bank Danmark, as well as insurance companies Vesta, Livia and Nordea Life and subsidiaries handling leasing, real estate and securities for the banks.

Nordea pursues three fields of activity: retail banking, business and institutional banking, and asset management and life insurance.

In the Nordic countries, the Nordea Group has nearly 10 million customers and 1,400 branch offices. With 5,1 million e-customers, Nordea is among the leading Internet banking companies in the world. Nordea’s shares are listed on the Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen stock exchanges.

The Regional Bank, Poland and Baltic countries, which the Estonian branch is part of, was established within the group in April 1999. With the first office opened in Riga in the autumn of 1998, the bank expanded to Lithuania in 2000. Nordea Bank Polska operates in Poland.

In addition to the Nordic countries, Baltic countries and Poland, which are considered the home market, Nordea is represented in 18 other countries worldwide.
