The Web Services connection identifies customers by PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) certificates (Nordea eID), which you receive from the bank together with the connection software. The software sends an application request, adding to it the customer’s name, user ID and country code, as detailed in the contract. The application request is protected with an activation code that has to be sent by text message to the mobile phone number of the administrator named in the contract.
If your bank connection software lacks the functionality required for downloading the certificate, you can download it yourself by logging in to the Certificate Download Service using the details given above. Once you have received the certificate, you will have to set a password to protect it. You will need the password later once it has been transferred to the bank connection software.
The certificate is valid for two years. Each company is responsible for renewing its own certificate before it expires. Some bank connection software solutions warn the user before the certificate expires, so that you can renew the certificate in time without suffering any interruptions in the service. Depending on your software, the renewal may be fully automatic or may need you to download a new certificate yourself as described above. You can order a new activation code from Nordea’s corporate customer service line 1773* / +372 6283 300. The activation code is valid for seven days.
