Investment funds

If you want to earn more on your investment than a deposit can offer and you understand the risks, then investment funds may be the right choice for you. Nordea has a wide range of funds that invest in different asset classes and regions throughout the world.

An investment fund consolidates the assets of investors who have similar goals and is managed by a professional fund manager.
The fund manager invests the investors' money in equities or bonds, depending on the terms and conditions of the chosen fund. Investments are allocated between different equities and bonds to diversify risks and benefit from the success of several companies. By investing through an investment fund you can diversify your risks efficiently and enjoy good growth with relatively small amounts of money.

  • Nordea's long experience in the global money and equity markets means we can help you create an investment portfolio that best suits your means and risk tolerance.
  • Your investments are managed by a professional and experienced Nordea fund manager and it is easy to follow the performance of your investments.
  • When we invest your money in Nordea investment funds we follow the principle of risk diversification.
  • Funds provide access to various investment regions where it would be too complicated and expensive for a private investor to invest
  • You can efficiently diversify the risks related to your investment activities
  • You can buy and sell fund units at any time

Nordea offers a wide range of investment funds, including both equity funds and bond funds. Our funds invest in many different regions from Europe to South America and from the Far East to the USA. We can also offer you a rare chance to choose a fund that invests in Africa.
Nordea bond funds use either the euro or the US dollar or the currencies of Nordea's home region of Scandinavia.

Nordea manages its equity funds with different investment strategies:
  • The strategy of Value Funds is to identify equities that are undervalued because of market inefficiencies. When the market corrects the value of the undervalued company, the price of the fund units rise.
  • The strategy of Growth Funds is to find companies that are growing and have high potential for further growth. Growth Funds generally have greater earnings potential than Value Funds but they also have higher volatility and risk.
  • Bond Funds invest mainly in bonds. The risk of a fund investing in high-grade bonds is relatively low, but so is its expected return. Some funds, such as high-yield bond funds, specialise in investing in high-risk bonds and their earnings potential and risk level are certainly significantly higher than for regular bond funds.
  • Reserve Funds invest in short-term bonds with an average maturity of two years. The interest rates of these bonds are reviewed at least once a year. Reserve Funds offer stability and low risk but their potential return is also low.

Find the best investment strategy for yourself!

  • What should the structure of my investments be like? Should I invest my money in funds or in a deposit? The answer depends on your goals and your risk tolerance and for how long you can invest your assets.
  • With a longer investment horizon you have more options. Short-term investments in equity markets are risky as market movements cannot be foreseen. Over a longer time the fluctuations will even out and if the economy grows, equity prices will also rise.
