Information about protection of deposits
Deposits in Nordea Bank Finland Plc Estonia Branch, including funds in current accounts, are protected by the Finnish deposit guarantee scheme. The protection extends to deposits of both private and corporate customers, except credit institutions and financial institutions.
The deposit guarantee scheme applies in case the bank is not capable to fulfil its payment obligations due to insolvency. In this case the deposits are compensated by the Finnish Deposit Guarantee Fund up to the amount of EUR 100 000 per depositor.
The said EUR 100 000 limitation is not applied to the compensation of funds received by a private person from the sale of his or her own residence, provided that the funds were deposited in the bank no more than 6 months prior to the occurrence of the bank’s insolvency, and provided that all such funds will be used for acquisition of a new residence for the depositor’s own use. The said funds are compensated in full amount.
