Domestic payments

A domestic payment is an EUR payment within Nordea Bank or to another Estonian bank.

Domestic payments can be effected as standard payments, urgent payments, payments within the Estonia Branch or direct debiting and standing payment orders.

Standard payment

A transfer to the beneficiary’s account in another Estonian bank.

• All standard payments to another bank are transferred to the beneficiary’s account on the same banking day, provided that the payment order (electronic or hard copy) is submitted to the bank before the cut-off time established for effecting payments.
• Payment orders that are submitted after the cut-off time are transferred to the beneficiary on the next banking day.

Payments within Nordea Estonia

Transfers in euros or foreign currency between accounts located in Nordea Bank Estonia.

• Payments made at bank offices and sales points or via the Telephone Bank are transferred to the beneficiary’s account on the moment the payment order is made.
• Payments made via Nordea Netbank are transferred to the beneficiary’s account, regardless of the day of the week, within half an hour, provided that the payment is effected between 8:00 and 20:30.
• Payments made via the electronic banking program Nordea Multibank are transferred to the beneficiary’s account within the hour, provided that the payment is effected on a banking day before 17:00.
• Payments effected after this cut-off time are transferred to the beneficiary’s account on the next banking day.

Urgent payment

A quicker-than-usual payment to the beneficiary’s account in another Estonian bank. Unlike standard payments, urgent payments are forwarded to the other bank through a real-time gross settlement system.

• Urgent payments can be effected at bank offices, via Nordea Netbank, Multibank or Telephone Bank on banking days until 17:00.
• Urgent payments are always transferred to the beneficiary’s bank on the same banking day.
• Urgent payments have a higher commission fee.

Payment order with a future value date

You can submit payment orders to the bank already before the scheduled payment date.

• Nordea Netbank and Nordea Multibank enable customers to effect orders on payments with a future value date – i.e. to submit payment orders to the bank before the scheduled payment date. 
• Payment orders with a future value date can also be submitted through our offices. 
• Orders can be made on payments due in up to 30 days.
