Current account is an account for daily transactions. If your income is paid to your current account, you can use the account for handling all necessary payments and settlement of payments using bank and credit cards.
Opening a current account
When opening a current account, bring valid identification to a Nordea Bank office near you.
We accept the following forms of ID:
- passport issued by the Republic of Estonia
- alien’s passport of the Republic of Estonia containing a valid residence permit
- diplomatic passport
- passport issued by a foreign country containing a valid visa or residence permit
- driving license issued by the Republic of Estonia
- ID card
- seafarer’s discharge book
- birth certificate together with identification of legal representative
- travel document issued in a foreign country
Opening a current account for those under the age of 18
A current account for a person under the age of 18 may be opened by the minor’s legal guardian (parent or court-appointed guardian)
Legal guardians may give children at least seven years of age right to use an account independently, and apply for a bank card and Internet bank agreement. Estonian Defence Forces service certificate

Interest is calculated on the end of day balance on the min amount of € 300
