Nordea Gold is a revolving credit card with flexible terms and attractive discounts, making it a convenient means for everyday payments both when you are at home and when you are travelling
  • You can make additional payments to your Nordea Gold card account at any time you want and use it without having to pay interest. Then if you make payments or withdraw cash from ATMs, you will first use your own money and only after you have used it up will you start using your credit limit.
  • With the Nordea Gold credit card you can withdraw cash for free from all Nordea Bank ATMs in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Russia. If you get cash from ATMs of other banks either in Estonia or abroad you will have to pay an additional service fee.
  • You can also deposit cash free of charge in Nordea ATMs in Estonia, thereby increasing the available funds on your card. The day limit on cash deposits in ATMs is 6 000 euros.
  • The card also gives you travel insurance for your whole family for all your trips lasting up to 90 days anywhere in the world. The insurance also covers any family members who are travelling with you. As a Nordea Gold credit card holder you can also enjoy Hertz Car Rental discounts anywhere in Europe.

Why choose Nordea Gold card?

  • Nordea Gold is a revolving credit card. It gives you an interest-free period of up to 50 days as you can pay for your purchases on any day between the 5th and the 20th day of the month after you made them. When you apply for the card, you can choose the monthly date when you will repay the credit you have taken. You can easily change the payment date later if you want.
  • You can choose how much of your credit card bill you will pay each month anywhere between 10% and 100%. On the payment date of each month you will need to pay off at least the agreed minimum part of the bill and the card service fees. You will have to pay interest only on the part of your spending that you did not pay off by the payment date. You are always welcome to pay off the entire bill before it becomes due on your chosen payment date.
  • You can change the monthly agreed minimum amount and the payment date in the Nordea Netbank at any time you need. The changes will apply immediately, provided that you make them before the bank issues the bill on the last working day of the month.

The Nordea Gold credit card has a minimum credit limit of 300 euros and the annual interest rate 18%.

Preconditions to issuing a credit card:

  • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age;
  • The applicant`s minimum regular income must be 640 EUR/month;
  • Absence of previous payment difficulties;
  • If the credit limit is higher then 300€ then regular income must be paid to banking account in the Nordea Bank.
  • If necessary, we will ask the applicant to present additional documents.

  • When you apply for the credit card, you can choose the date you want to make payments to your card and the minimum monthly amount you will pay. The credit card bill is issued on the last working day of each month.
  • You can see your bill in the Nordea Netbank, where you can also get the best overview of your card transactions and any debts you may have.

  • Most convenient way to pay your bills is to set up a direct debit to make the payments from your main Nordea account. Simply ask in your local Nordea branch, call the Telephone Bank, or send the request through the Nordea Netbank.
  • Good opportunity to pay the bills is to use Nordea ATMs in Estonia, where you can deposit cash free of charge to your card account.
  • In addition, you can also pay any amount in to your card account at any time if you want to increase the funds available on your card account.

  • How much you pay onto the credit card account and when are flexible and you can set them by yourdelf in the Netbank.
  • For example, if you set 50% as the minimum amount to be paid each month when you apply for the card, there will be no interest on the half of your purchases that you pay for by the payment date. Then you can pay for the other half of your purchases later.
  • Any changes you make to the minimum amount or the payment date will apply immediately, provided that you have made them before the bill is issued on the last working day of the month.

The Nordea Gold credit card also gives you travel insurance so you can feel safe and worry-free on your trips. The insurance covers you as the cardholder and your family members who are travelling with you abroad for up to three months.

The insurance is provided by AIG Europe Limited, part of the world's largest insurance group with 40 million customers in 160 countries all over the world.

Nordea Gold credit card travel insurance FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where is the travel insurance valid? Is it valid everywhere in the world?

Who is insured? Is it only me or my whole family?

If two family members (or 4–5 + n people) are travelling together and both or all have Nordea Gold and Business or similar credit cards, can the limits of their individual cards be added up if their costs exceed the limit on one card?

What is covered by the insurance if my luggage arrives late at my travel destination or back at home, or if it gets lost completely?

Who is considered to be a family member?

The family is travelling together and during the trip my child turns 22. Will the insurance cover cease automatically?

NB! Purchase protection insurance does not extend to MC Gold credit cards, which are no longer concluded (ever since 11.02.2013).

  • Purchase protection guarantees a right to compensation across the globe (also online) for goods purchased with a valid Nordea Gold, Nordea Credit or Nordea Platinum credit card in case of incidental damage, theft or robbery if
  • Purchase protection starts at the moment the purchase was paid for by the aforementioned card and is valid for 60 days.
  • The purchasing price of the purchased item must be between 100 euros and 2000 euros.

  • Under which circumstances is the purchased good insured?
    The good is insured if the cost of the good is 100-2000 EUR (max 5000 EUR in case of Platinum card) paid for by a valid Nordea Gold, Nordea Credit or Platinum credit card. The exclusions are specified in the insurance terms and conditions.
  • How long is the insurance valid for?
    The insurance is valid for 60 days after the good was purchased.
  • Will the cost of the good be covered in full if the good breaks?
    If the good can be repaired, then the repair costs will be compensated after subtracting the deductible in the amount of 50 EUR. If an authorised repairs provider issues a certificate confirming that the good cannot be restored, then the full cost of the good will be compensated after subtracting the deductible in the amount of 50 EUR.

Your bank card is your electronic wallet. To make sure that your bank card is secure follow these simple principles:

  • Keep the PIN code of your card to yourself alone and never keep it together with the card. The PIN code is your electronic signature when you confirm transactions, so it is very important to keep it secret.
  • When you pay with your card make sure that it is not taken out of your sight.
  • Do not leave your card unattended.
  • When you enter your PIN code make sure that no one else can see it.
  • If you suspect that your bank card may have been used by an unauthorised person, inform the bank immediately and have your card closed.

If you have lost your card, call the bank immediately on the 24/7 service number 1772* / 6 283 300 (+372 6283300 from abroad) to have it closed and to prevent it from being used any further by an unauthorised person.
